Lesson example - Bush Bikes

Using film in the classroom

This video tutorial uses the film 'Bush Bikes' as the basis for a lesson plan looking at the important element of 'Show, Don't Tell' which is at the heart of all screen storytelling.

By studying the film's use of image, action, sequencing and character study, you will learn how to examine a screen narrative's visual content. These techniques can be applied to any other film in the Screening Shorts collection, and can also be carried through to practical filmmaking exercises that you do with your students.
