Most Beautiful Man in the World, The (2002)
A bored little girl is looking for something to do on a hot summer’s day. Playing in nearby scrubland she notices a tan, bare-chested stranger playing with her dog. She tells him ‘that’s my dog’ and smiles shyly. Without saying a word he smiles, carefully removes a beetle from her shoulder and gives it to her. The mood changes when he sees the girl’s mother looking on with suspicion from their house. The little girl runs home, returning to listlessly half-watch television. This dream-like short is intentionally ambiguous, perhaps an innocent encounter or perhaps something more sinister.
