How do I log in?

Before you log in, please read the Screening Shorts Site Access Policy

With a Glow username and password you have free access to these educational resources - you simply log in to this site via Glow. If you belong to a UK Further Education College or University, please log in as a Shibboleth user.

If you do not have access to Glow or Shibboleth, you can enquire with Education Scotland or your institution.

Our Site Access Policy, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use apply to all users.

What can I do on this website?

You can access complete films from our collection and make use of the extensive learning resources designed by teachers and leading practitioners in film and moving image education.

If you have a Glow or Shibboleth login, you can also download films and use them for screenings and creative projects with your pupils.

As a teacher in Scotland, you can use the suggested questions and activities in lessons or as part of class projects. You can also develop cross-curricular or enterprise projects within your school, or across Scotland.

How do I download film material from Screening Shorts?

If you wish to download and use a film from our collection, simply right-click on the ‘Download’ button beneath the film you want, and save it to your computer.

How do I edit a film downloaded from Screening Shorts?

There are a wide range of editing software packages available but most schools and/or pupils will have access to devices with iMovie.
